Kim Novaa is responsible for your Restylane treatment. Kim has 7 years’ experience with Restylane, and today acts as Restylane Coach in Denmark, educating and training doctors and nurses about Restylane.
Kim is also trained in micro pigmentation, i.e. cosmetic tattooing. The combination of these two areas of knowledge and experience means that Kim possesses a unique ability to study the contours, lines and aesthetics of the face. As a result of his successes and achievements, Kim’s client portfolio includes a number of well known media and public figures in Denmark.
What is Restylane
Restylane is a gel, which is injected under the skin for the purpose of adding volume and thereby smoothen wrinkles and lines as well as enlarging the lips.
Restylane consists of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the body. This is the reason why the gel naturally breaks down and is eliminated by the body over a period of time. A Restylane treatment lasts for 6-12 months.
Does this treatment involve any risk ?
Restylane is a very safe product. Unlike some other products Restylane® is not produced through the use of animal-based additives. There is therefore no risk of allergic reactions. Morover hyaluronic acid is an entirely natural substance, which already exists in the body so there are no skin reactions to the substance.
How is a treament performed ?
The treatment is quite simple and can be performed fairly quickly. Restylane is injected under the skin with a hypodermic needle, which adds volume under the wrinkle. Although the wrinkle line itself is not eliminated, the effect of this increase in volume leads to the skin in the wrinkle line raising slightly and equalising itself with the surrounding skin. The overall effect is to produce a smoothing out of the skin diminishing the visibility of wrinkle lines.
The hypodermic needle is very thin (0,3 mm) and is comparable to the thickness of a mosquito sting. The injection itself takes around 15 minutes depending on the amount of desired treatments in the face. If desired, the operation can be done under local anesthesia.
The treatment normally takes about an hour, including counselling.
